Define the minimum handoff
Identify the agreement version, product configuration, repayment schedule and relevant disclosures. Record any approved exceptions or unresolved delivery issues. Determine which system owns the authoritative account record and how servicing staff find it. The handoff should explain the account as originated rather than relying on the latest product page to reconstruct historical terms.
Trace changes to the account
Record amendments, repayment changes and customer communications with their dates and basis. Preserve the link between the original agreement and subsequent changes. Research the applicable consumer rights and servicing requirements in the relevant jurisdiction. A change that is routine operationally can still require a different disclosure or review pathway for a particular product.
Design an arrears review pathway
Define how the team identifies payment difficulty, routes cases and records the actions considered. Keep facts, customer communications and reviewer decisions connected. Avoid treating an automated collection sequence as a complete policy for every case. Use fictional scenarios to test incorrect balances, disputed transactions and changes in customer circumstances. The legal requirements for arrears and forbearance need their own market-specific assessment.
Close the feedback loop
Send recurring origination issues back to the teams responsible for product, disclosure and decisioning controls. A servicing complaint can reveal a unclear communication or a missing evidence record. Record what changed and which cases were affected. This operating method supports review across the lending lifecycle without claiming that a particular handoff or collection action is legally compliant.
